Keep your eye on the ball.
Padel Cap Guide
For padel, check how your cap behaves when you look up, turn and move towards the ball. Indoor and outdoor sessions can lead to different preferences.
Test the view above you
Padel includes looking up for lobs and overhead shots. Try your cap in its normal position and follow an imaginary ball upwards. If the brim blocks more of the view than you like, reassess the position and brim shape. The solution is a comfortable personal fit, not a universal instruction to wear every cap backwards.
Indoor and outdoor padel
Outdoors, you may value the brim’s shade when looking across a bright court. Indoors, comfort, sweat management and an unobstructed view may be more relevant. Wearing a cap is optional in either setting; choose it because it helps you feel comfortable during your game.

Blackskies selection
Motion: a flatter profile for the court
55–61 cm · 87 g
Motion is made for active days, including padel. Its lower front profile and flat-brim look offer an alternative to Flow’s raised A-frame and Pulse’s curved baseball silhouette. Ventilation, a moisture-absorbing sweatband and an adjustable snap closure help you stay comfortable on court.
Motion Coffee Aegean combines a warm coffee tone with a blue visor. See it in our padel shoot below, then check the fit and your upward view before your next match.

For a raised front and curved brim
55–61 cm · 87 g
Flow is a starting point if you like a more defined A-frame front. Check the upward sightline during your overhead preparation and compare it with the shape you already enjoy wearing.

Pulse offers a familiar baseball profile with a curved brim. Choose it if that shape feels natural on your head; its style also works away from the court.

For a softer alternative
55–61 cm · 69 g
Aero offers a flexible low-profile crown and foldable brim. It is a valid padel choice as well as a running option, especially if you already enjoy its softer feel.

Check the cap while turning, looking up and bending into a ready position. If it moves over your eyes, adjust within the model’s range. Avoid compensating for an unsuitable fit by overtightening. A head circumference within the stated range is the first check; crown fit is the next.
After your session
Keep your post-session routine simple. At Blackskies, we rinse Flow, Motion, Pulse and Aero thoroughly inside and out with clean water after sport, then leave them to air dry. Easy to clean, quick to dry and ready for your next active day.
Rinse the sweatband as well as the crown, gently blot excess water and leave the cap in its normal shape in a ventilated spot. Keep it out of a closed kit bag until fully dry.
Can I use my running cap for padel?
Yes. All Blackskies Pro lines can be used across sports. Check how the brim and adjustment work when you look up and change direction on court. A cap that you already find comfortable while running is a useful starting point, but try the padel-specific movements too.
Should I wear a cap backwards for padel?
That is a preference, not a requirement. Wearing it forwards provides shade from the brim; wearing it backwards changes that coverage and your sightline. Check that the closure feels comfortable in the position you choose.
Which cap is best for indoor padel?
There is no single shape that suits every player. Indoors, you may prioritise comfortable sweat management and the view during overhead shots over shade. Compare softer Aero construction with the curved or flat-brim shapes you normally prefer.
What if my head is outside the Pro size range?
The confirmed range is 55–61 cm. Do not rely on forcing the closure or stretching the cap to fit outside that range. Check the size guide and contact us with your measurement and the model you are considering.
